Sharp Shifter Cars - Components
1. Compressor and air tank
CARS:
The system uses an electric air compressor to achieve a working pressure of 87 - 140 psi (6 - 10 bar).

The air tank has a Pop Off Valve set at 80 PSI.
2. Driver Control and IIU
Via buttons mounted to the steering wheel.
Electronic:
A 9 Volt battery is mounted to the back of the steering wheel. This supplies electr
icity to the button switches. Once activated an electronic signal is sent to the valves on the Actuator.
CARS:
Ignition Interrupt Unit (IIU):
This unit when connected to the engine ignition system will "kill" the ignition when changing up gears. The "kill" time is 0.4 second.
3. Actuator
The Actuator connects to the engine gear lever via the gear change push rod. It utilises the power of compressed air to quickly and positively change gear.
It is machined from aluminium and has a hardened steel piston head.
